3 players Delhi Capitals (DC) might trade ahead of IPL 2023

Delhi Capitals can get better fit players for these names.

After qualifying for the playoffs for three consecutive seasons, the Delhi Capitals (DC) failed in the Indian Premier League 2022. They finished 5th in the points table with seven wins and seven losses after 14 matches. The Delhi-based franchise looked good to qualify for the playoffs at the beginning but their campaign was rocked by Covid.

They slipped midway through the season as they starved for consistency. The capital-based franchise tried to mount a comeback towards the end but fell agonizingly short of the playoffs. Delhi Capitals have a well-balanced squad at their disposal but some areas need reinforcements.

With the IPL back in the home-and-away format, the Delhi Capitals will be looking to add a couple more players than can strengthen their side. The trade window ahead of the auction for IPL 2023 will provide the perfect opportunity for Delhi Capitals to shape their squad for the upcoming season. In this post, we will take a look at the 3 players Delhi Capitals might trade ahead of IPL 2023.

3. Chetan Sakariya

Chetan Sakariya grabbed the limelight after picking up 14 wickets in 14 matches for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022. It prompted Delhi Capitals to shell out INR 4.2 crore in the auction to sign the bowler.

However, Khaleel Ahmed’s form in the IPL 2022 meant limited chances for the left-arm pacer. Sakariya only played games during the previous edition in which he scalped three wickets. However, the youngster was spotted wearing a Rajasthan Royals jersey during the IPL 2022 final.

Hence, it won’t be a surprise if Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals decide to trade the player ahead of the auction for IPL 2023. DC already have plenty of pace-bowling options in their ranks and might look to use that amount to bring in a quality spinner.
