3 best bowlers from Duleep Trophy 2024 who can earn Team India call-up

2. Navdeep Saini

The 31-year-old Navdeep Saini has been around the international scene before. He played across formats for India in 2 Tests, 8 ODIs and 11 T20Is. However, he hasn’t quite been able to cement his spot. Nevertheless, his recent form in the Duleep Trophy gives us a hint that he is ready to make a strong comeback.

For the record, Saini replaced Mohammed Siraj in Team B and made his presence felt with both bat and ball. He played a vital innings in the lower order, mustering 56 runs and forming a game-changing 205-run liaison with Musheer Khan. On the contrary, he took five wickets in the match, helping his team to a crucial 76-run victory.

Notably, the right-arm pacer was the third-highest wicket-taker of the tournament, taking 14 wickets in three games, including a five-wicket haul. Since he has shown good signs on his batting, then it is highly likely that he might earn a call-up to the national side once again.

3. Anshul Kamboj

The 23-year-old pacer from Haryana was the standout performer in the Duleep Trophy 2024 as he emerged as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker. Representing India C, he took 16 wickets in three matches, including a stunning eight-wicket haul versus India B.

Anshul also made his IPL debut earlier in 2024 with Mumbai Indians. He made three appearances for the five-time IPL champions wherein he took two wickets to his name. With 40 wickets in 16 first-class matches and 23 wickets in 15 List-A games, he has been on the radar for some time.

India will look to develop more young bowling talents in the futuristic assignments and the bowler’s performances in the Duleep Trophy could push him closer to receiving a national call-up.
