Rinku Singh took Team India over the line

Batting first, Australia hammered Indian bowlers out of the park. While Steve Smith scored a fifty, Josh Inglish smashed 110 runs in just 50 deliveries with the help of 11 fours and 8 maximums. The world champions ended up setting a mammoth target of 209.

Coming out to chase, the Men in Blue suffered an early blow as Ruturaj Gaikwad returned without facing a ball following a wrong call from Yashasvi Jaiswal. But the duo of Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan continued to bat with intent.

Kishan departed after scoring 58 off 39 deliveries but Suryakumar continued his exploits. He smashed 80 runs off just 42 balls to bring down the equation in India’s favour until another drama happened.

Team India needed seven runs off the last over with Rinku and Axar Patel batting in the middle. However, the game took an extraordinary turn when the hosts lost three back-to-back wickets.

Requiring one off the last ball, Rinku maintained his composure and hit a six to ensure a victory. India are now leading the five-match T20I series by 1-0. The next game will be played on Sunday.
