In a never-seen-before moment, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy surprised Quinton de Kock with a 109-kmph bouncer on a free-hit delivery. T20 cricket has forced the cricketers to bring innovation to their game. The batters have added the shots like scoops, switch hits, and reverse ramps to their armoury. Meanwhile, the bowlers have introduced the slow-ball bouncers and knuckle balls to improve their chances of survival.

Meanwhile, the cricket fans witnessed one such innovation by a spinner in the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. After winning the coin flip and selecting to bat first, LSG were off to a solid start. The duo of Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul added 44 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket.

At this point, while Kolkata Knight Riders were searching for a wicket, Lucknow Super Giants were looking to press the accelerator. KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer brought the mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy in search of a wicket.

The KKR spinner bowled a dot on the very first delivery of the over. On the next delivery, KL Rahul smashed him for a boundary. On the 3rd delivery, Varun bowled a no-ball but KL Rahul took a single.

Quinton de Kock was on strike to face the free-hit but the mystery spinner outfoxed the left-handed southpaw. Varun Chakravarthy bowled a 108.7 kmph bumper to de Kock and the batter wasn’t ready for it. He missed his pull shot as the ball settled in Sam Billings’ gloves.
