During the Border Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia, Mohammed Siraj was subjected to racist remarks. This particular incident became viral on social media. Fans ruined the spirit of the game by hurling racist remarks at the Indian paceman, Mohammed Siraj.
Nonetheless, that didn’t affect his performances as he became the leading wicket-taker of India in the series. He finished the series with 13 wickets. Currently, Team India are playing the second Test match against England at the Lord’s, London.
In a disgusting incident that took place at the Home of Cricket, the Lord’s England spectators shamelessly threw beer and champagne corks at Lokesh Rahul. The incident happened when the opener was fielding near the boundary.
Virat Kohli urges KL Rahul to throw corks back at the crowd
A picture doing the rounds on social media shows several English fans throwing corks at the boundary line, where KL Rahul was patrolling near the boundary rope. The Indian opener got distracted by the crowds’ behaviour as he never expected them to behave cheaply.
During the 68th over, TV broadcasters showed an extremely annoyed KL Rahul throw it back at the stands, from where the corks came from on India skipper Virat Kohli’s instruction. The skipper was not really happy with the way crowd behaved as he signalled KL Rahul to throw corks right back at them.
Meanwhile, talking about the game, Team India posted 364 in the first innings. KL Rahul top-scored with 129. He hit 12 fours and a six to his name. His partner Rohit Sharma scored 83 runs including 11 fours and a six. On the other hand, James Anderson bowled really well for England. He took five wickets to his name.
In reply to India’s target, England responded very well. They are just a handful of runs away from taking the lead. The hosts have gone past the 340-run mark. Meanwhile, England’s Test captain Joe Root scored 150 for the hosts.
