South Africa’s limited-overs captain Temba Bavuma has done a terrific job in the recently-concluded ODI series against Team India. He not only captained the team ever so well but also contributed to the team with the bat. Under his captaincy, Proteas pulled off the unthinkable against India.

Proteas went on to whitewash the Men in Blue by 3-0. When the hosts took a 2-0 lead in the series, they approached the third game with the same intensity and zeal to win the dead rubber. Team India who played for pride in the Cape Town ODI lost the game by 4 runs.

As a result, South Africa won three ODIs in a row. Bavuma played a quintessential role for Proteas with the bat in the first ODI. When the Indian bowlers bowled at the right line and lengths, Bavuma smartly anchored the innings by scoring a century including eight boundaries.

I want to take South Africa to the top: Temba Bavuma

Proteas’ white-ball captain Temba Bavuma stressed that he wants to take South Africa to the top. Notably, they are already in the right direction under the guidance of Bavuma. They have totally dominated Team India in the ODI series as they didn’t let the visitors dictate terms.

On the other hand, Proteas won the Test series by 2-1 against India. While talking to Betway Bavuma echoed, “We’re desperate to build on that Test series win because India have generally had the better of us in recent years. They’ve got some of the best players on the planet who are likely to go well in all conditions.”

“We understand the cricketing rivalry between the sides. These are series you want to be involved in and opponents you want to test yourselves against,” he added in a statement.
