T20 World Cup 2022: Predicting India’s playing XI against Pakistan
Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami
Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the leader of the Indian bowling unit in Australia. The pacer will look to use the Aussie conditions efficiently to create havoc in Pakistan’s batting with his swing. Bhuvi will be the key for India in the powerplay.
Mohammed Shami is likely to partner with Bhuvi in the Indian pace attack. The veteran pacer was a late inclusion in the Indian team as he came on as a replacement for the injured Jasprit Bumrah. While Shami is short of match practice, he showed his class in the only over he bowled in the warm-up game against Australia. The veteran pacer is likely to handle death bowling duties alongside the new ball.
In his short career, Arshdeep Singh has shown that he has got the temperament to play international cricket. The left-arm pacer will give a different dimension to the Indian bowling unit while giving his skipper a solid death bowling option.
India might opt for the attacking option of Yuzvendra Chahal in place of Ravi Ashwin. However, Chahal hasn’t been in the best of form lately. The leg-spinner, meanwhile, could use his bag of tricks against the under-fire Pakistan batting unit. Furthermore, the big boundaries in Australia will suit his bowling style as the leggie could emerge as India’s X-factor against Men in Green.
