T20 World Cup 2021: Pakistan fans shout ‘security’ after Pakistan defeat New Zealand by 5 wickets

Prior to T20 World Cup, New Zealand cancelled their Pakistan tour due to security reasons.

New Zealand cricket team took the cricket fraternity by surprise when they called off their tour to Pakistan. The Kiwis were expected to play the limited-overs series (ODI and T20I series) against Pakistan in Pakistan. However, the Black Caps cancelled the tour at the last minute citing security reasons.

As a result, they refused to play against the Babar Azam-led team. Similarly, the England cricket team also cancelled their series against Pakistan citing security reasons. Meanwhile, New Zealand locked horns with Pakistan in the Super 12 stage of the 2021 T20 World Cup.

The match took place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Pakistan restricted New Zealand to a modest total of 134/8 in their quota of 20 overs. In response, Pakistan found a way to beat the Kiwis despite facing pressure.

Pakistan won the game by 5 wickets and secured the second win in a row in the T20 World Cup 2021. Earlier, they defeated India by 10 wickets.

After the game, New Zealand and Pakistan players were shaking hands with each other. Meanwhile, Pakistani fans ensured to take a dig at the New Zealand cricket team. The fans ensured that they were vocal about the security issues.

Even during the game, Pakistan fans were heard yelling out the word ‘Security’. Pakistan are in surreal form in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. They have got all the bases covered and appear like a well-balanced team in the tournament.

The fact that they defeated Team India by 10 wickets goes to show their credibility. They continued their good run by beating the Kiwis in Sharjah. Pakistan will lock horns with Afghanistan on October 29, 2021, at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
