What a freak of a batter this guy is!!! On Saturday, Suryakumar Yadav exploded with the bat to smash his maiden T20 century in the final T20I against England. The right-handed batter achieved the feat after crossing the hundred-run mark off just 48 deliveries, including 12 fours and 5 maximums. In the process, he also became the fifth Indian ever to score a century in the T20 internationals.

After sealing the series by winning the first two games, India squared off against England for the final time in the T20I series on Saturday. The English skipper Jos Buttler won the toss at Trent Bridge and asked Rohit Sharma and co. to bowl first. The English openers came with an intent to score briskly but Avesh Khan soon sent Jos Buttler back after a few blows.

However, the English batters kept coming at the Indian bowlers despite losing wickets at the regular interval. Meanwhile, Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone scored explosive fifties to take England to a massive total of 215/7 in 20 overs. With such a big total to chase, India were in all sorts of trouble after losing three superstars, including Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma within the first five overs for 31 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav brought back India to the game

SKY was joined by Shreyas Iyer in the middle and both batters slowly moved the Indian innings ahead. Soon after crossing the 10-over mark, Surya exploded to smash the English bowlers. The duo added 119 runs off 61 deliveries for the fourth wicket before Iyer departed. Meanwhile, Surya kept taking India towards the total.

Suryakumar Yadav soon reached the three-figure mark but he didn’t stop there in his quest to take India home. However, the batter got dismissed in the 19th over while taking on Moeen Ali for an exhilarating 117 runs off 55 deliveries, including 14 boundaries and 6 maximums.
