Suresh Raina snubs CSK as he names his IPL 2024 title favourites

CSK legend Suresh Raina has won four IPL titles in his stellar career.

The Indian Premier League has completed 16 seasons since its inception in 2008. In all these years several teams made a serious bid for the title challenge. While some teams were tantalizingly close to winning the honours, other teams sealed the deal and deservedly won the titles.

Among the teams, CSK and MI have been the most successful in terms of lifting the titles. Both the giants won the trophy five times whereas Kolkata Knight Riders won two titles. On the contrary, Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers (now-defunct) Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans won a title apiece.

Talking about the previous season, Chennai Super Kings got the better of Gujarat Titans in the final encounter to win their fifth title. It remains to be seen which team will use their resources to better effect to win the title this time around.

Suresh Raina wants RCB to win IPL for Virat Kohli

The 17th edition of the IPL will kick off on March 22 as CSK will lock horns with RCB in the tournament opener. With the cash-rich IPL less than a month away from going all guns blazing, Suresh Raina has picked the name of the team that will go on to win the IPL 2024 title.

Chennai Super Kings’ legend snubbed the Yellow Army and picked Royal Challengers Bangalore instead. RCB are one of the teams that are yet to win the title since the inaugural edition of the tournament. In fact, they made it to the final on three occasions but lacked the teeth to seal the deal when it mattered.

They are also the only team to have not lifted the trophy, despite making it to the finals on three occasions. He further added that Virat Kohli deserves to win the IPL this time around. Kohli has been a loyal servant to RCB for 16 seasons and will play his 17th season this time.

“Virat deserves a trophy. He has performed so well for the Men in Blue and the Royal Challengers Bangalore over the years. He has enjoyed success at RCB and now it’s time that he puts his hands on the trophy,” Suresh Raina told TOI.
