SL vs IND 2024: Team India’s predicted XI for 1st ODI against Sri Lanka
Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj
India’s chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has performed considerably well in Colombo. He has featured in seven games so far, accounting for 14 dismissals. Kuldeep maintained a bowling average of 17.35 and an exceptional economy of 4.32. Meanwhile, it’s going to be quite a challenge for Arshdeep Singh.
The left-arm medium-fast bowler has made six ODI appearances for Team India. Overall, he has taken 10 wickets to his name, including a 5 wicket haul at an economy of 4.58. India’s right arm fast bowler Mohammad Siraj is expected to lead the pace bowling attack.
The Hyderabad-born bowler has performed exceptionally well against Sri Lanka. His match-winning (6/21) spell against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final was a sight to behold. Harshit Rana who earned his maiden call up for Team India is expected to make his ODI debut. He was added to India’s squad for the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe.
Unfortunately he didn’t get a chance to make his debut. He had a dream season with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 season. Harshit picked up 19 wickets in KKR’s title winning campaign. Harshit Rana, who played under Gautam Gambhir’s mentorship in the IPL 2024, will now be playing under his guidance for Team India.
