The ongoing second Test match between England and India at the Lord’s Cricket Ground witnessed every snippet of drama. There was entertainment, competitive spirit between the teams, humour and so on. Meanwhile, the third day of the second Test witnessed an unexpected incident.

During the game, a pitch invader stole the spotlight for some time after pretending to be an Indian cricketer. A pitch invader who is supposedly an English man pretended to field for Team India on Day 3 at the Lord’s on Saturday.

The incident happened right after the play resumed in the second session. A local fan invaded the pitch donning Team India’s jersey. He even pointed his finger at the Team India logo when the security guards approached him. The pitch invader donned jersey number 69 with the name “Jarvo” printed on it.

Meanwhile, the Lord’s security guards decided to take him off the field to let the game continue. Amidst all this drama, India’s fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was seen laughing at the incident. At that time, the hosts were in a comfortable position at 216/3 in their first innings.

“Some random chap in whites had made his way into the middle with the Indian players, and he stood there as if he was about to take part in the Test match,” said former England cricketer Michael Atherton on Sky Sports. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Talking about the game, England responded pretty well in the first innings. They scored 391 and managed to extend the lead by 27 runs. England’s Test captain Joe Root stole the show with his terrific 180*. He remained not out till the end before Indian bowlers took all the ten wickets.

Root constructed his innings with the help of 18 boundaries. Jonny Bairstow scored a terrific half-century including seven boundaries while Rory Burns also looked good for his 49 including 7 fours. With two more days to go, the Lord’s Test has plenty of interesting things in store for both spectators.
