Pat Cummins Captaincy Records In Tests, ODI, T20I & IPL
Born on the 8th of May 1993 in West Mead, New South Wales, Australia, Pat Cummins was always seen as a bright prospect when he made his international debut but the 30-year-old looked even more determined after being named as the skipper. The pacer struggled with injuries at the start of his international career but made a strong comeback. Australia needed someone who could keep the team together and the one who could make tough decisions as far as the team selection was concerned and build a rapport with the support staff and Cummins was looked at as a perfect candidate after Steve Smith.
Cummins was the vice-captain in 2019 and looked impressive in his role. He was made the skipper of the test side in 2021 after wicket-keeper batsman Tim Paine resigned. Cummins has showcased his ability to make bold one-field decisions. As a pacer, Cummins has always been a wicket-taking option who can get crucial wickets with his clever seam movement and swing. He has so far taken 239 wickets in 55 tests with best figures of 6/23 while in 75 ODIs he has claimed 124 wickets with best figures of 5/70. In 50 T20Is, Cummins has claimed 55 wickets with best figures of 3/15. The 30-year-old is also a handy lower-order batsman.
