Mumbai Indians ran through a disastrous start in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, they are yet to open their account this season. Having played six games so far, Mumbai Indians lost all games.

This is also the first time that they have lost six of their opening games in a season. MI surrendered at the hands of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants.

As things stand, they are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table. The five-time IPL champions still have a mountain to climb in order to qualify for the playoffs. They will have to win the remaining eight games or at least seven games to be in the fight.

You have to try some new players: Mohammed Azharuddin

Meanwhile, former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin has come up with a new suggestion for Mumbai Indians. He is of the notion that the MI management should give chance to Arjun Tendulkar in the ongoing season.

Earlier, Arjun Tendulkar signed up for the IPL 2022 auction for a base price of Rs 20 lakh. He was sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 30 lakh at the mega auction in Bengaluru. However, he is yet to make his debut in the IPL.

Azharuddin further added saying that the team management must experiment with new players. He wants MI to give a chance to Arjun Tendulkar to showcase his talent. “You have to try some new players, like you can give a chance to Arjun as well, who has been doing well, maybe Tendulkar name on the field can bring them good luck,” he added.

He also remarked that it doesn’t make sense if Tim David is not being given an opportunity to play even after being picked for a hefty price tag. “If you have picked David for such a high price, and if he is not playing, there is no use of him being in the squad.

“If you have players, you just can’t make them sit along, that will be injustice to the player as well. If the things are not happening, they can try different players, as most of the teams have not played them, and the team can succeed,” Azharuddin added.
