IPL 2025: Five players Chennai Super Kings (CSK) should purchase at Mega Auction
4. Washington Sundar
The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer is a Chepauk pitch specialist and his off-spin and ability to bat higher up the order make him a tailor-made addition for the Yellow Army. His versatility with both bat and ball provides Ruturaj Gaikwad’s side with depth and options in the middle overs.
Washington Sundar has played 60 games in the IPL, wherein it took 37 wickets to his name but an economy of 7.54. On the other hand, he has been a handy lower order batter where he scored 378 runs registering his personal best score of 40.
5. Rishabh Pant
For the first time in eight years, Rishabh Pant finds himself in the auction pool, offering CSK a rare opportunity to plan for the future. With MS Dhoni likely in his final years, Pant could be groomed as Dhoni’s long-term successor.
Rishabh Pant has been a part of the IPL since 2016, having made 111 appearances in the competition. He scored 3000 to 84 runs at an average of 35.3, including one century and 18 half centuries at a staggering strike-rate of 148.9. As a wicketkeeper, he has affected 6 runouts and 23 stumpings.
