IPL 2024: 5 players Mumbai Indians (MI) can target at the auction

Mumbai Indians (MI) have already begun their preparations for the seventeenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) leaving no stone unturned to form a solid unit with all bases covered.

The Mumbai-based franchise ensured the return of all-rounder Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans (GT) by securing an all-cash trade deal which cost them INR 15 crore. To make up for him, they traded Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for INR 17.50 crores.

Despite the historic move, MI have still multiple spots left to fill. They would like to target a few big names at the auction to complete their squad for IPL 2024. Here we look at the potential names they can target.

Pat Cummins will return to IPL auction after pulling out of the previous season due to international commitments. MI can aim to acquire his services as he can add value to the already star-studded team.

Cummins will solidify the pace battery which seems a bit weak before auction. Following the release of Jofra Archer, the franchise really needs a quality overseas pacer to assist Jasprit Bumrah.

The Australian skipper can also contribute with the bat in the lower order as he is a decent batter. Apart from that, he is an electrifying fielder and a man for the big moments. His character will help the side in the business end of the league.
