Chennai Super Kings (CSK) remains one of the most consistent and successful teams in IPL history. With their IPL 2023 title victory, they equalled Mumbai Indians (MI) for having more IPL titles (5) despite playing two seasons less.
As the mini-auction approaches, CSK must have their strategies ready to build a strong unit. They already have their key players with them and with some good buys, they can group a solid bunch of players.
Here we look at five names the Chennai-based franchise can target in the auction for IPL 2024:
1) Shahrukh Khan
Indian batter Shahrukh Khan will unsurprisingly be on CSK’s radar at the auction. In the last auction as well, they bid high for him until Punjab Kings (PBKS) lured him for INR 9 crore.
As Ambati Rayudu has retired, CSK need a solid middle-order batter who can play according to the game’s situation. Hence, the franchise might go all out for the local boy, who has tremendous hitting ability.
If CSK manages to acquire Shahrukh, it will also be beneficial for the right-handed batter. He will definitely get a lot to learn from the master himself MS Dhoni and upgrade his skills, especially in the death overs.
