IPL 2024: 3 players RCB can release ahead of mini-auction

Despite grouping a solid unit, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2023. The likes of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell were in terrific form but didn’t find enough support from other teammates.

Hence, the management would be keen to bring more balance to the side in the 2024 season, where the Bangalore-based franchise will once again begin its campaign in search of its maiden IPL title.

Here are three names RCB might release ahead of the mini-auction for IPL 2024.

1) Reece Topley

English pacer Reece Topley was bought by RCB ahead of IPL 2023 for INR 1.9 crore. He managed to play just a single game before an injury ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

The concern over Topley’s fitness has only been raised over the recent months. He even missed the 2023 World Cup due to an index finger injury. Hence, the management wouldn’t want to take a bet on him.

RCB might release him to acquire any other talented pacer who can be fit and available for the games. They really need to put a good bowling unit together as they already have a formidable batting line-up.
