Once touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket, Varun Aaron failed to find any buyers during the auctions for the Indian Premier League 2023. The right-arm pacer was a part of the Gujarat Titans squad in the IPL 2022 but the defending champions released him ahead of the new season.

Varun Aaron had a decent domestic season with his new team Baroda as the 33-year-old picked up 4 wickets in 6 SMAT matches at an economy rate of 7.40. Meanwhile, he accounted for 9 wickets in 5 Vijay Hazare Trophy matches at a strike rate of 25.4. Varun Aaron has experience of playing 52 IPL matches as well.

Varun Aaron could be very expensive at times, but there are no questions about his wicket-taking abilities. Given the lack of quality Indian pacers on the block, Mumbai Indians could turn their attention towards the former Gujarat Giants pacer.
