English wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler is having a dream run with the bat in the IPL 2022. He is the current owner of the orange cap by some margin. Opening the batting for Rajasthan Royals, Buttler has been taking the opposition for the cleaners and making the most of the powerplay.

Jos Buttler is in a prime form and has already smashed two centuries this season. He has amassed a total of 375 runs in 6 matches at a strike rate of 156.90. Such has been the dominance of the wicket-keeper batter this season; KL Rahul is 110 runs behind him in the orange cap race after playing an extra game.

In a conversation with ESPNCricinfo, Jos Buttler has named an Indian batting superstar his dream opening partner in the current era.

Jos Buttler names Rohit Sharma as his dream opening partner

Buttler was conversing with ESPNCricinfo when he was asked about his dream opening partner from the past and current era. Jos Buttler replied Rohit Sharma from the current era and Sir Vivian Richards from the past era.

“My dream opening partner will be Rohit Sharma from current Era,” said Buttler.

For those who don’t know, Jos has already played with the Hitman for two seasons in the IPL with Mumbai Indians. However, the five-time champions didn’t retain the Englishman ahead of the IPL 2018 mega auction, and Rajasthan Royals grabbed the opportunity to sign the destructive opener.

During the conversation, Buttler was also asked if he was the captain, would he have allowed R Ashwin to use ‘Mankad.’ The English star replied, “No.”

The interviewer further asked Buttler if Ashwin would listen to him; the opener cheekily replied “No” and burst into laughter.

Jos Buttler has been the key to Rajasthan Royals’ success this season, and he will look to continue his purple patch in the next game as well against Delhi Capitals.
