2. Mumbai Indians – NOTJUSTODD
Mumbai Indians is inarguably the most successful IPL franchise to date with already 5 titles being established in its cabinet. Out of these 5 crowns, 4 came in odd years- 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019. With an obvious trend of Mumbai Indians, clinching the title in every alternate odd year, the fans started believing that only odd years will be the years of glory for MI Paltan.
But a year as unexpected as 2020, played one more of its trick, and crowned MI in an even year, in 2020. Thus, this password of Mumbai Indians’ social media befits perfectly. In IPL 2021, they will once again be in the pole position to make a hat-trick of the coveted title of IPL.
3. Chennai Super Kings – DEFINITELYNOT
The Dhoni-led franchise, Chennai Super Kings had an oscillating last few years, probably the worst in 2020. After the repealing of the ban, CSK stormed into the league as triumphant in IPL 2018. But the 2020 season was an aberration in the books of CSK as they were languishing at the 2nd position from the ground.
But the fans of the yellow army had something to cheer about when the “Thalla” murmured “DEFINITELY NOT” on being asked whether 2020 was his last IPL season. Soon this 2-word phrase went viral everywhere and the fans celebrated this news for a long duration. Fans were seen wearing t-shirts with this phrase imprinted on them. After 2020 debacle, CSK has much to prove in IPL 2021 and they are all geared up for redemption.
