Martin Guptill has been one of the vital cogs of New Zealand cricket. The right-handed opener is known for his ability to clear the balls out of the stadium with relative ease. When everyone expected him to be the hottest prospect in the mini-IPL 2021 auction in Chennai, the dangerous opener went unsold, which took everyone by surprise.

However, there are chances that he would be picked later in the Indian Premier League. It would be a big mistake if franchises don’t pick him later. Guptill showcased his mettle with the bat in the T20I opener against Australia where he scored an impressive 97 off 50 balls. Guptill’s innings was laced with 6 boundaries and 8 towering sixes.
