IPL 2021: 5 Players who will be missed in IPL 2021
5) Mitchell McClenaghan
The tall left-arm fast bowler hailing from New Zealand has remained with the Mumbai Indians since 2015 but was released by the franchise for the 2021 season. He did fairly well for the franchise while leading the foreign pace department and accompanying Bumrah.
But it only happened in 2020 that his own country mate, Trent Boult stole his position in the side and took charge of the pace attack alongside the constant Jasprit Bumrah, forcing McClenaghan to warm the bench. He didn’t get to feature in a single game in 2020 season which compelled the management to take the harsh route to decide to exclude him from the squad.
Despite his proven effectiveness with the ball in hand in the 56 matches he has played so far, scalping 71 wickets with an impressive average of 25.39, he will once again find himself on the other side of the ground, only much farther this time from the playing arena.
