The first thing that comes to our mind after hearing the name Sheldon Cottrell is his trademark salute celebration. Every player dreams to play in the cash-rich IPL and Cottrell relished his dream after he was roped in by Punjab Kings in the 2020 season.
He was purchased for INR 8.5 crore. He played 6 games for the franchise wherein he took 6 wickets before he was released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2021 auction. Unfortunately, he went unsold in the auction.
Cottrell showcased his mettle in the World Cup in England last year by taking 12 wickets to his name. The left-arm quick can create various angles for batsmen. There are chances that Cottrell might play later in the IPL and if the opportunity arises, Rajasthan Royals must surely look to sign him as a replacement for Archer.
