India’s veteran paceman Mohammed Shami is one of the names that didn’t make the cut in the squad for the upcoming Test against Bangladesh. A few weeks ago, BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar dropped a hint that Mohammed Shami was being considered for a possible return in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

However, the fast bowler’s comeback is still in progress before he was eventually left out of the Test squad. It seems that he is expected to return to competitive cricket in October, after the Bangladesh series. The report adds that Shami will play for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy on October 11, before making himself available for national selection.

3. Mukesh Kumar

India’s fast bowler Mukesh Kumar who has played only 3 Tests was expected to feature in the upcoming Test against Bangladesh but that wasn’t meant to be the case. The selectors had gone with newcomers like Akash Deep and Yash Dayal this time around.

Mukesh Kumar who took 7 wickets in red-ball format was last seen playing a Test match in early January against South Africa. He was overlooked for the five-match home Test series against England.
