Shubman Gill was Dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the Chepauk Test. However, he ensured to let his bat do all the talking in the second innings by scoring an impressive century. This must have given him a great deal of confidence going forward into the Kanpur Test.
Virat Kohli also failed to make an impact in the first and second innings of the Chepauk Test. The veteran cricketer scored six runs in the first innings before scoring 17 in the second innings. He has all the tools and ingredients to make a telling impact in the upcoming game.
Rishabh Pant provided a spectacular start in the first innings of the Chepauk Test recently by scoring 39 runs to his name. In the second innings, he brought the best out of himself by scoring a stellar century, laces with 13 fours and 4 sixes. The attacking wicketkeeper batsman will be aiming to build on this top-notch form in the next game.
KL Rahul didn’t make his presence count in the first innings as he scored 16 runs. However, he scored a quick-fire 22 off 19 balls in the second innings. The Bengaluru born cricketer will try his best to crafting a sublime innings in the next game.
All-rounders: Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja
Ravichandran Ashwin was the talk of the town after he brought up his sixth Test century in the Chepauk Test against Bangladesh. It was also his second century in Chennai and the manner in which he brought up his century was impressive as he maintained a strike rate in excess of 90.
The Tamil Nadu-born was quite impressive with the ball as well as he took six wickets to his name in the second innings. Rightly so, he was named the man of the match for his all round performance. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja scored 86 in the 1st test against Bangladesh.
The 38-year-old added a 199 run partnership alongside Ravichandran Ashwin for the sixth wicket. He was pretty decent with the ball as he took two wickets in the first innings and followed it up with three wickets in the second innings.
