Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowling at the death has turned into a horror story for every Indian cricket fan. The senior pro once again proved very expensive at the death as India fail to defend another total as Australia defeated India by 4 wickets in the first T20I of the three-match series. India and Australia clashed in the first T20I on Tuesday in Mohali. India batted first after losing the toss and had a tough start. Team India lost the skipper Rohit Sharma early followed by another batting superstar in Virat Kohli.
However, brilliant knocks from KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya helped the Indian team to post a massive total of 208/6 in 20 overs. Indian bowling unit in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah had a task in hand to leave the dark shadows of the disappointing Asia Cup 2022 behind.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar once again proved costly in the 19th over
Chasing the total, Australia went on to attack from the very first delivery. Openers Cameron Green and Aaron Finch added 39 runs for the first wicket. Aaron Finch got out but Cameron Green kept attacking the Indian bowling as he smoked 61 runs off just 30 deliveries before getting out. He stitched a vital partnership of 70 runs for the 2nd wicket alongside Steve Smith. However, India stormed back into the game with four quick wickets after reducing Australia to 145/5 in 14.1 overs.
However, Matthew Wade and Tim David took the charge in the middle and smashed the Indian bowling unit all around the park. Both batters added 62 runs off just 30 deliveries for the 6th wicket to win the match for the visitors. It was a nightmare come true for Bhuvneshwar Kumar as he once again gave away 16 runs in the 19th over. He was too expensive tonight as the senior pro went for 52 runs in 4 overs without any wicket.
