“I miss you Dhanashree” – Fans take a dig at Shreyas Iyer during an ad shoot

Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer was last seen in cricketing action during the two-match Test series against South Africa. He had a pathetic outing in overseas climes, scoring 31 and 7 in the first Test and 0 and 4* in the second Test.

The right-handed batter will be next seen in the upcoming five-match Test series against England. Ahead of the long Test series, Shreyas Iyer was involved in commercial ad shooting for the popular multi-national corporation American brand called “Gillette”.

Shreyas Iyer is one of the most marketable cricketers in India. The cricketer has been a part of commercials and promotions for various brands. This time around, he was spotted donning a white-coloured “Gillette” T-shirt and holding a cricket bat for an advertisement shoot.

Fans tease Shreyas Iyer with Dhanashree chants

Meanwhile, in a video clip that has been widely circulated on social media, fans can be heard teasing Shreyas Iyer with “Dhanashree chants”. One of the fans went a step ahead by saying, “I miss you Dhanashree”. Everything was caught on camera and the clip has gone viral as well.

Nevertheless, Shreyas Iyer was least bothered about the chants as he resumed the shoot. For the record, Dhanashree is the wife of India’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. At times, Dhanashree, Chahal and Shreyas Iyer share stories on Instagram when they spend some quality time.

However, instead of taking it sportively, the fans have brought in a negative angle towards Dhanashree and Shreyas. This is disgusting in the first place. Meanwhile, he is expected to deliver the goods in the upcoming Test series against England.

“I’m going to play attacking irrespective of the situation. And also when you bowl negative, when you bowl safe and defensive at the start, you want to score runs and you need to take your team through up to a certain point. So that was my mindset and that’s why stuck with it. Yeah, I was happy [with my knock] irrespective of the score,” he added.
