“I asked Ashish Nehra for a job at Gujarat Titans but he denied” – Yuvraj Singh
Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has claimed that he asked Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Gujarat Titans’ head coach Ashish for a role in the team but the latter denied it.
Yuvraj, who himself has been a star in the league, was denied a role in the newly introduced franchise by his former teammate. He indicated his wish to mentor young lads and is hopeful of joining an IPL side in the coming years.
“I asked Mr Ashish Nehra (Gujarat Titans) for a job, but he declined it. So, let’s see where else I can get a position, but at the moment, I have to balance. So, definitely in the coming years, I want to give back to cricket and help the young guys get better. I can contribute a lot,” Yuvraj told PTI.

I will pick up coaching: Yuvraj Singh
The 42-year-old also stated that he will pick up coaching once his kids start going to school. He expressed his desire to work with youngsters and help them improve their skills and temperament.
“Let’s see what opportunities I get, but my priority is my kids right now. Once they start school, I will have more time. so I can pick up (coaching). I love working with the young guys, especially my state boys, and I feel that mentoring is something that I would love to do, and definitely to be part of one of the IPL teams, I’m definitely looking at,” he added.
The Punjab-born cricketer contributed immensely to India’s 2007 and 2011 World Cup wins. He was adjudged the Man of the Tournament on both occasions. He announced his international retirement in the year 2019.
