Flop XI of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

8. Shaheen Afridi

Pakistan relied on Shaheen Afridi to deliver the goods with the ball. As it turned out, he managed to take 5 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 21.00 and an economy rate of 6.56. He lacked the killer instinct to rip through the defense of the opposition, which hindered Pakistan’s momentum.

9. Josh Hazlewood

A lot was expected of Josh Hazlewood in the T20 World Cup 2024. However, he hardly made a telling impact with the ball wherein he took just four wickets in 6 matches at average of 36.25. He kept the batters in check by maintaining an economy of 6.04 but he couldn’t take wickets when it mattered.

10. Matheesha Pathirana

Despite relishing a fair bit of success in the IPL 2024 where he took 13 wickets, Matheesha Pathirana failed to assess the conditions in T20 World Cup 2024. The right-arm fast bowler failed to lead the team’s bowling attack by example as he managed to pick just 3 wickets in 3 games.

11. Maheesh Theekshana

Sri Lankan international Theekshana failed to pack a punch in the tournament, wherein he accounted for just one dismissal in three games. While the spinners of other teams found the spark to dictate the terms, Maheesh Theekshana failed to weave the magic with the ball.
