3. Mitchell Marsh
Mitchell Marsh had a terrible campaign as a batsman and captain in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Under his captaincy, Australia failed to go beyond the Super 8. Marsh scored 125 runs in 7 innings at an average of 20.83 and a strike rate of 116.82. His inability to perform in important games led to Australia’s early exit from the competition.
4. Kane Williamson
Kane Williamson was expected to lead the Black Caps to success. However, that wasn’t meant to be the case as he managed just 28 runs in 3 innings, with an average of 14.00 with a strike rate of 87.50. New Zealand had a poor campaign as they failed to go beyond the group stage where they succumbed to Afghanistan and the West Indies.
5. Jonny Bairstow
Jonny Bairstow also had a terrible campaign where he hardly pulled the trigger in the tournament. He scored 110 runs in 6 innings at an average of 27.50 with a strike rate of 134.14. The dangerous batter was dismissed for a duck against India in the semi-final, which culminated in England’s collapse in the run-chase.
6. Shadab Khan
Shadab Khan was expected to lead Pakistan’s middle-order department. However, he had a disappointing tournament, wherein he mustered only 44 runs in 3 innings. Moreover, he also went wicketless in three games, failing to provide the much-needed spark.
7. Sam Curran
Sam Curran was adjudged the Player of the Tournament in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. However, he couldn’t replicate the form in the recently-concluded tournament. He took just 3 wickets in 5 matches. Besides that, he struggled to score runs. Curran scored just 2 in the semi-final against Team India.
