Jaydev Unadkat must have been taken aback after he came to know that he has been selected for the forthcoming Test series against Bangladesh. The southpaw received a surprise Test call-up to replace the injured Mohammed Shami in the squad. The last time Unadkat played his first Test match was back in 2010 when he made his Test debut against South Africa.

Little did he know that it was the only Test he played in 12 years. The left-arm paceman was recently seen in action during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 where he guided Saurashtra to the finals of the tournament. Notably, the Saurashtra cricket team went on to beat the Maharashtra cricket team by five wickets and won the title under the astute captaincy of Jaydev Unadkat.

He took to his Twitter handle and expressed his delight upon receiving the Test call-up. Unadkat is yet to open his account in Test cricket and will certainly be looking forward to delivering the goods for India in the Test series opener.
