Watch: Andre Russell brings out the victory dance to celebrate KKR’s astounding win
West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell was at his entertaining best after the Knight Riders’ spectacular win over Mumbai Indians last night. ‘Dre-Russ’ added the Caribbean flavour to the IPL by doing the victory dance alongside Pat Cummins post-match.
It was a see-saw battle between two heavyweights as the match was hanging in the balance till 13.1 overs as Mumbai Indians successfully sent the dangerous Andre Russell packing. Then, however, a tornado named Pat Cummins shocked the five-time champions.
Andre Russell grooves alongside Pat Cummins
English pacer Tymal Mills got rid of destructive Andre Russell on the first delivery of the 13th over. It was a killer blow to the Knight Riders as Mumbai Indians got ahead in the game at that moment. After that, however, Pat Cummins took centre stage in some style. The Aussie played a blinder, scoring the joint-fastest fifty in the history of the IPL off just 14 deliveries.
The Tsunami of boundaries from Cummins’ bat hit the Mumbai shores, and the Blues were blown away in no time. Andre Russell seemed pretty impressed by Pat’s knock as he was seen dancing around his Aussie teammate after the game.

KKR’s bandwagon rolls on, Mumbai Indians are in a spot of bother
With the win against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders have reached the top of the league standings with three wins and a single loss in four matches. They also are on a two-game winning run now. The Kolkata-based franchise will face Delhi Capitals in their next game.
At the same time, Mumbai Indians are in a spot of bother after another loss this season. Given the increased competition this season, it would be difficult for Mumbai Indians to bounce back from here. They languish at 9th place after losing all of their three matches so far. The five-time champions will face RCB next and hope to register their first win of the season.
