Meanwhile, speaking of the game, Ravichandran Ashwin floored the Islanders with a four-wicket haul to secured a win by 238 runs. Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis got the visiting side off to a flying start but once Kusal got out, no other batters managed to grind it out alongside their captain.
Once Jasprit Bumrah gatecrashed Karunaratne’s wicket after a fine hundred, it was only time India clean the tail to secure a whitewash. Ravichandran Ashwin finished off the proceedings, dismissing Viswa Fernando.
“We All Know DRS Is Like a Lottery” – Rohit Sharma
India have gotten better and better with DRS calls with each passing game. Young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has made some telling contributions with his inputs to Rohit Sharma before taking a review.
Rohit asserted that they are not too worried about DRS calls, saying that at times people will get it wrong. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, the 34-year-old said:
“DRS we all know, it’s like a lottery. There are certain aspects of the game that I have told him to look into and that’s about it. DRS calls are not something you will always get it right, there will be times when you will be making wrong calls, but that’s absolutely okay.”
