WATCH: James Anderson delivers a perfect in-ducker to get rid of Rohit Sharma

James Anderson is one of the best fast bowlers in the world. England’s fast bowler made in-roads into Team India’s batting attack in the first Test match at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The paceman took four wickets in the first innings. During the game, he dismissed Cheteswar Pujara and Virat Kohli in the back-to-back deliveries.

However, Team India showed tremendous resistance in the opening Test. They bundled England for a mere 183 in the first innings. In response, India posted 278 with the help of KL Rahul’s 84. England set up a target of 209 for the visitors by scoring 303 in the second innings.

Virat Kohli & Co approached the game with caution and aggression. Team India finished Day 4 with 52/1 and they required 157 runs to win on the final day. The visitors were the clear favourites to win the first Test. But, rains had other ideas as Day 5 was called off due to rain.

The first Test ended in a draw. Meanwhile, the second Test is taking place at the Lord’s. England won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul added a record 126-run stand for the opening wicket at the Home of Cricket.

James Anderson gets rid of settled Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma got off to a terrific start as he didn’t take calculated risk in playing shots. He looked so confident right from the start. Rohit kept on missing deliveries outside the off-stump. The highlight of the match was when he smacked 4 fours in an over off Sam Curran’s bowling.

In the process, he went on to score a sensational half-century. Overall, he thumped 11 boundaries and a six. While he was batting so well, his innings was cut short by James Anderson. The veteran pacer bowled a sensational in-ducker and to which Rohit Sharma couldn’t react on time.

As it turned out, Rohit Sharma was bowled by Anderson. Rohit drew plaudits from every nook and corner for the cricket fraternity after he scored 83. However, he would be disappointed to have not scored a century. The quest for the first Test century in overseas conditions continue for Rohit Sharma.
