Suryakumar Yadav is the man to watch at T20 World Cup 2021, says Brad Hogg

Suryakumar Yadav has by far been the standout performer of the Indian cricket team. The flamboyant cricketer has been making waves in international cricket as of now. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands and his performances were there for everyone to see.

The 30-year-old had long been aiming to represent Team India with grit and determination. Needless to say, the Indian selectors didn’t bat an eye on him. However, after his blistering performances in the IPL, Mumbai Indians’ star earned a call-up to the Indian team.

Surya scored a sensational fifty in the first T20I against England on his debut. Having impressed everyone with his performances, he was featured in the team’s tour of Sri Lanka. He made a great impact once again by scoring 124 runs in 3 ODIs.

Rightly so, he was named the Player of the Series. India won the ODI series by 2-1. He played the only T20I against Sri Lanka in Colombo. During the T20I opener, he scored a half-century at a strike rate of 147. He came out to bat at No.4 after Sanju Samson’s dismissal.

Surya and Dhawan steadied the ship and went on to score his second half-century in a grand fashion. After that, he went for a big shot but ended up getting out as he was caught in the deep. Meanwhile, Brad Hogg made a huge claim about Suryakumar for the T20 World Cup 2021.

Brad Hogg’s prediction about Suryakumar Yadav

The former Australian spinner Brad Hogg who has been busy analysing the gentleman’s game spoke about Suryakumar Yadav. “I think Suryakumar Yadav is definitely going to be in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Captain Virat Kohli will be opening, along with Rohit Sharma.

Then the team will have Suryakumar Yadav coming in at No. 3. I just think the player has expanded his game… Look at the range of shots that he has now got… he is quite unorthodox as well. That adds to his uniqueness and he can play different ramp shots on both leg and offside. He can also attack you and use his feet.”

Brad Hogg has also predicted that Surya will be the X-factor for Team India in the upcoming World Cup. The former chinaman bowler reckons SKY might win the Player of the Series award at the marquee event.

“I just think he is going to be the difference in this particular T20 tournament. If he stands out and puts the bowlers off with that array of shots, he can make a huge impact. I think he is going to set the tournament up for Team India.

For me, I think SKY is the main man for India. He is the man to watch at the T20 World Cup. Actually think that SKY might be Player of the Series at the T20 World Cup.”
