Chris Gayle picks his finalists for T20 World Cup 2022 final
Chris Gayle is yet to announce his international retirement.
With the T20 World Cup being just a few days away, cricket pundits from all over the world are making their predictions for the tournament. West Indies veteran batter Chris Gayle has also come forward to reveal his verdicts on the showpiece event.
Gayle feels that West Indies and Australia will lock horns in the finals of the tournament, which is scheduled to be played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
“I think there could be a final match between West Indies and Australia,” Gayle told Dainik Jagran.
Surprisingly, the West Indies board didn’t pick experienced players like Kieron Pollard, DJ Bravo and Andre Russell in the squad for the T20 World Cup. Reacting to this, the 43-year-old said that the decision will make life difficult for the Caribbean team.
“It will be very difficult for the West Indies team as the captain of the team is new and there is no Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Bravo in the team,” he added.
Apart from these vital names, Sunil Narine is also a big miss in the Windies squad. On top of that, Shimron Hetmyer was dropped from the squad after he missed the rescheduled flight to Australia.

I hope the team plays well: Chris Gayle
The ‘Universe Boss’ also expressed his belief in young talented players who could be a threat to the opponents on any day. He hopes that his national side plays well and get their strategy right on the game days.
“Yes, it is definitely that the players who are included in the West Indies team are talented and can prove to be dangerous for any team. As everyone knows it is just a matter of adapting your strategy in the right way on match day. I hope the team plays well,” said Gayle.
The two-time World T20 champions will kick-off their campaign against Scotland on October 17. Nicholas Pooran’s side will aim for their third T20 World Cup title.
