Watch: Muttiah Muralitharan loses his temper during Marco Jansen’s expensive final over
On Wednesday, Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets in the 40th match of the IPL 2022. It was another nail-biting thriller involving Gujarat Titans who have made a habit of winning the matches during the final moments. Gujarat Titans, once again, came back from the dead this season to snatch a victory from Sunrisers Hyderabad’s jaws. The Sunrisers were so close to victory that their spin-bowling and strategic coach Muttiah Muralitharan lost his cool after seeing the match slipping away in the final over.
The Ahemdabad-based franchise required 22 runs in the final over with Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia batting in the middle. Meanwhile, South African pacer Marson Jansen came to deliver the final over for the Orange Army. Tewatia smashed Jansen’s first delivery for a maximum and then rotated the strike on the next delivery.
Rashid Khan then sent the 3rd delivery for a six but missed the next one. With 9 runs required on the last two deliveries, the left-arm pacer delivered a low full toss outside off stump which Rashid thumped for another six. Witnessing the pathetic bowling from his premier pacer, Muttiah Muralitharan lost his temper.
The legendary off-spinner from Sri Lanka could be seen venting out his anger in the SRH dugout.

In the end, the Afghan leggie Rashid Khan smashed the last delivery for another maximum to pull off a heist against his former franchise.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first after losing the toss and posted an above-par total of 195/6 in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma continued his good form and notched up another well-made fifty, while Aiden Markram also completed a half-century.
Chasing the big total, Wriddhiman Saha led the charge for Gujarat Titans with 68 runs off 38 deliveries. However, Umran Malik brought the Sunrisers back into the game with an exceptional spell of pace bowling. The Jammu Express accounted for a five-for before Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia made a mess of his efforts.
