5 players SRH could retain ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction

Sunrisers Hyderabad made their entry into the IPL in the 2013 edition. The Hyderabad based franchise won their first title in the IPL 2016 edition by getting the better of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the showdown. They won their maiden under the captaincy of David Warner.

They even made it to the finals in the IPL 2018 edition. Unfortunately, they lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final. Talking about their performance in the last season, the Sunrisers, under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, reached the finals for the third time but surrendered at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders in the showdown.

However, they will be looking forward to making a bid for the second title in the upcoming season. The Orange army will look to retain their core part of the players such that they can get hold of the championship for the second time. Let’s take a glimpse at the five players whom SRH will look to retain ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

1. Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins is one of the best bowlers in the world without the shadow of a doubt. The senior cricketer adds a great value to the Sunrisers Hyderabad, courtesy of his exceptional pace and ability to take wickets at crucial moments. He is one of the assets home SRH will look to retain ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

He can consistently hit speeds up above 140 km/h and is known for his ability in extracting bounce and seam movement from the surface. Apart from his bowling credentials, he is a handy lower order batsman as he is capable of scoring some valuable runs with some big shots in the death overs.

The veteran has been a part of the IPL since 2014 and over the decade he has played 58 games wherein he took 63 wickets including 1 four wicket haul at an economy rate of 8.74. On the other hand, he has scored 515 runs including three half centuries at a strike rate of 149.7.
