The Kiwi all-rounder is known for his exploits in T20 cricket as his right-arm medium-pace bowling and left-arm batting provide a lot of balance to any playing XI in the shorter format. Hence, the champions of the inaugural season signed Jimmy Neesham for INR 1.5 crore in the auctions for IPL 2022.
However, with only four foreign players allowed in the playing XI, Rajasthan Royals could not accommodate Jimmy Neesham in the playing XI. Furthermore, the all-rounder also failed to nail his spot in a couple of opportunities he received. The all-rounder scored 31 runs in two matches but failed to pick up a wicket with the ball.
Rajasthan Royals already have Daryl Mitchell in their squad, hence, the franchise might release Jimmy Neesham ahead of the IPL 2023 and reinvest the amount to sign a finisher.
