3 players whom Punjab Kings can target to replace Shikhar Dhawan
2. Rohit Sharma
Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is one of the candidates PBKS might contemplate signing him at the auction. It seems very much likely that Rohit Sharma may consider leaving MI. It is no secret that has been some unrest within the MI camp, especially after Hardik Pandya was appointed as captain. In fact, several fans were unhappy with this decision. Some fans even booed the newly-appointed captain during the initial games at the Wankhede Stadium.
Given these circumstances, Rohit could seek a move and if that happens, PBKS might target him as they aim for their first IPL title. Rohit Sharma who has a truckload of experience in winning 6 IPL titles as a player could be the asset PBKS needs to finally lift the trophy.
3. David Warner
David Warner retired from international cricket earlier this year. The experienced southpaw could be released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, owing to his dismal form. However, he is still a force to be reckoned with in the tournament. He could be a valuable overseas player for PBKS to consider.
Warner is an experienced opener who is best known for his quick-fire starts for the team. In addition, he has leadership skills and has previously led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to their only IPL title in the 2016 season. He could be the ideal replacement for Shikhar Dhawan in the PBKS line-up, due to his captaincy experience and aggressive batting.
