England international Tymal Mills is a proven star in T20 cricket and is a renowned name all-round the world. He was expected to step up and turn out to be a reliable option for captain Rohit Sharma. However, he had a disappointing season as he picked up six wickets in five matches, leaking runs at 11.18.
The left-handed pacer was subsequently dropped before an injury ruled him out for the remainder of the season. Daniel Sams, on the other hand, was more impressive throughout the season. He picked up 13 wickets in 11 games at an economy of 8.81. On Saturday (November 12), the Mumbai-based franchise traded Jason Behrendorff from RCB to bolster their pace line-up.
With the procurement of Behrendorff and the rise of Sams, and with Jofra Archer expected to join the camp for next season, the Mumbai Indians are more than ready in the bowling department. Hence, they would like to offload Mills so that they can add player to strengthen any other department.
